Accessibility in terms of communications covers every aspect of how we communicate in, and on behalf of, our chaplaincies. The first step is to consider your whole audience; every individual should be able to participate and enjoy the work and life of the chaplaincy equally. For example:
Can everyone hear the sermon, and can you do anything to help those who can't?
Does everyone have the digital skills to access online services or the newsletter?
Do you represent everyone in your community visually in your communications on social media?
It's well worth regularly checking that your communications are representative and inclusive of all.
Are you letting everyone know about an event only on a noticeboard?
