Guidelines

A good starting point is to think carefully about the following questions, you could potentially use them at a Chaplaincy Council meeting.
The very first question is to consider whether you really need a website? This may sound obvious, but it is helpful to think this through using the questions below, as every chaplaincy's needs are different.
Needs questions
- Audience - who is your website for, and what do they need?
Resources questions
- Do you have an existing site to edit? What works well about this site and what isn't working?
- What skills, resources and budget do you have for a website project?
- How are you using your existing pages on A Church Near You?
- Are you considering a DIY site build or asking a web developer or digital agency for help?
- What quality of photographs and content do you already have and who will write the copy for the updated site?
- Do you have a chaplaincy logo and/or brand guidelines that will be used for the site?
- Who will manage the project?
- Once the website is complete, who will update the content and be responsible for its maintenance? Will this be one person or a group of people?
- Who should own the access/contract and passwords to the site?
Research questions
- what do your audiences (your congregation, chaplaincy council, local community) think of your current website?
- what would they like to see and what do they need?
- Which other websites do you like and why?
