So you think you know the Nicene Creed?
We all say the words — sometimes so often that they roll off our tongues without much thought.
Throughout this year, we’ve explored different aspects of the Creed and uncovered some of its deep roots. As the year draws to a close, we turn the lens of unity toward its meaning for us today.
We are a vibrant, diverse diocese — a living mosaic of voices, cultures, and experiences. This November, we’ll be hearing from people across our communities as they share what the Creed means to them.
How do their lives and experiences shape the way they proclaim these ancient words?
How can actively listening to one another deepen our faith, strengthen our unity, and inspire us to live God’s love in our chaplaincies and daily lives?
How do we hold fast to unity in an increasingly divided and broken world?
What can you expect?
We will be featuring a range of voices from across our diocese, each reflection offering a different perspective on the Nicene Creed:
Interfaith
Ecumenical
Global Majority Heritage
Feminist
LGBT+
Youth
Join us as we celebrate the richness of our diversity, delight in each unique voice, and rediscover the Creed as a living expression of our shared faith. Some of the reflections may be very different to what you usually read. Let us all engage with them and prepare to listen.
