The Nicaea and Creation Course

What does the Nicene Creed have to say to us about the environment?
We are very grateful to Rev Annie Bolger, who has created a wonderful series of theological reflections, entitled 'Nicaea and Creation,' especially for our diocese on this subject, all of which you can access below. She says,
"The Gospel is the good news of the healing of creation, and we affirm this Gospel each week in the words of the Nicene Creed. It's a joyous and challenging task to take a closer look at the creation theology offered in the Nicene Creed. We hope that this resource will equip individuals and chaplaincies alike to revisit the foundational doctrines that ground Christian climate action in hope. I would also like to thank the other contributors to this resource: the Revd Dr Jacob Quick, who has written the chapter on 'One God', and the contributions of Canon Dr Clare Amos, Revd Evelyn Sweerts-Vermeulen, and Susi Doherty.”
The Nicaea and Creation Resource
This resource is flexible for you to adapt to your needs; for example, each section can be read by individuals for theological enrichment or used in sermon preparation. The resource consists of four sessions, each ending in discussion questions to prompt personal reflection as much as group discussion and a related worship session.
Sessions:
1. One God: We believe in one God
2. Jesus Christ: Through him all things were made
3. Holy Spirit: The giver of life
4. Resurrection & Life: The resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come
Supporting Documents:
How to Guide: guidance and thoughts on ways to access and structure these resources
Worship: A collation of the worship sections at the end of each session. These worship resources could also be used by small groups studying other material who are keen to give some attention to Creationtide in their prayer times.
You can read more about the course in an article by the Rev Evelyn Sweerts-Vermuelen
