Courses and training
God calls us all to a wide range of ministries, lay and ordained, in our chaplaincies and in our everyday lives.
Whatever you are called to or interested in, there are many training opportunities offered by the diocese to support you.
For clergy
Training for curates (IME2)
Curate learning and development is strongly valued and affirmed in our diocese. In IME2 curates receive day-to-day training, supervision and reflection on their ministry.
Continuing Ministerial Development
Training available for clergy. Relevant online workshops and seminars are arranged by the Diocesan Director of Ministerial Development.
For all of us
Spiritual Director Training
Are you being called to the ministry of "holy listening"? As our world grows increasingly noisy, the need for companioning others on their spiritual journey has never been greater. The Diocese is committed to fostering a community of well-formed Spiritual Directors who can walk alongside others as they discern God’s presence in their daily lives.
Lay Learning: Walking Together in Faith
The diocese also offers training to lay members of the church. This might be to encourage them into lay ministry or even to consider ordination. But equally, it could be to develop their faith journey as followers of Jesus Christ. We are committed to the idea of being a church of missionary disciples and we stress the importance of the discipleship of all Christian people and a faith lived out seven days a week.
