The Diocese in Europe proclaims the Nicene Creed
“The Creed is important because it relates the story of God to our own story.” Bishop Robert
Throughout 2025, we celebrated 1700 years since the Nicene Creed was created. Across the Diocese in Europe, we celebrate a beautiful mosaic of cultures and stories of faith and as we end this year of reflection and celebration, we share the words of the Creed, here spoken by people from across our diocese.
Each voice in this video reflects the heart of our vibrant community. In a world often marked by division and uncertainty, the Nicene Creed reminds us of the unity we share. It offers us the opportunity to see afresh the faith which binds us together. Come and join us as we proclaim what we believe—one in Christ, united across borders and cultures.
The music in the video is the Hymn to the Trinity, written by Bishop Geoffrey Rowell, the previous Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe, and is sung by the choir at Holy Trinity, Geneva.
