Celebration of the the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Reuilly Agreement.
The Reuilly Contact Group, bringing together the four Anglican Churches of Britain and Ireland and the French Lutheran and Reformed Churches, met in London from 14 to 16 October 2026 to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Reuilly Agreement.
Under the joint chairmanship of the Rt Revd Dr Robert Innes and Pasteur Dr Christian Baccuet, the meeting brought together representatives of the Church of England, the Church in Wales, the Église protestante unie de France (EPUdF) and the Union des Églises protestantes d’Alsace et de Lorraine (UEPAL), alongside representatives and observers from the Church of Scotland, the Fédération protestante de France and the Diocese in Europe.
A particular highlight was the anniversary celebration at Lambeth Palace on Wednesday 14 October. Members attended Evensong in the Chapel, followed by a reception and dinner of the Nikaean Club. The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally, addressed the gathering, reflecting on the significance of the Reuilly relationship and the importance of continuing friendship and common witness between the Churches. Pasteure Stéphanie Ferber of UEPAL responded on behalf of the French Protestant Churches, while Pasteur Dr Christian Baccuet presented the Archbishop with a Huguenot cross as a sign of friendship and communion.
