Bishop Robert welcomed Bishop Luke Irvine Capel and commissioned him as an Honorary Assistant Bishop in the Diocese in Europe at a service in the chapel of Church House in Westminster on 15 October.

As part of his role, Bishop Luke, as Bishop of Richborough, is able to provide alternative Episcopal oversight to parishes in the South of England and any chaplaincies in Europe who have formally requested this due to their decision not to accept the ministry of Women Priests or Bishops.
