Vocations Sunday - May 11th 2025

This coming Sunday is the Sunday of the Good Shepherd, when the Church prays for vocations to ordained ministry. At Petertide this year in the Diocese there are going to be six candidates for ordination to the diaconate, eight candidates for ordination to the priesthood, and two clergy moving into Ministry from other churches.
We currently have 25 people in training for ministry from across Europe. The majority are training on ERMC, a part-residential programme based in Cambridge, which offers remote and weekend training for the dioceses of East Anglia and ourselves. Ten are in residential training in England.
If this Sunday you might include in your prayers all involved in the Diocesan discernment process and those who oversee the selection for the Church of England, as well as those who work in Theological education, it would be very much appreciated.

Almighty God, you have entrusted to your Church a share in the ministry of your Son our great high priest:
inspire by your Holy Spirit the hearts of many to offer themselves for the ministry of your Church,
that, strengthened by his power,
they may work for the increase of your kingdom
and set forward the eternal praise of your name;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
