We join in prayer with those affected by the tragedy in Spain
We are deeply saddened to hear of the train crash today on the high-speed rail line between Madrid and Andalucia in the province of Toledo. We join together to hold in our prayers all who have lost their lives, the injured, their families and friends and all emergency services. Please join us in prayer, the following composed by Father Louis in the chaplaincy of St George in Malaga;
Loving God, we pray for all those affected by the terrible train accident. We remember those who have been injured, frightened, or traumatised by what has happened, and we hold before you any local people who may have been involved.
We give thanks for the dedication, skill and compassion of the emergency services, medics and all those who responded to this major incident. Bless them as they continue their work and support those in need.
We pray for healing and recovery for all who have been hurt, in body, mind or spirit. Grant them strength, comfort and hope in the days ahead. In our confusion and our grief we pray for the peace which surpasses all understanding that it would guard our hearts and our minds. We pray for those who have died that they may rest in the peace of Christ who died and rose in the glory of the resurrection life.
