Location: Neuchâtel, Switzerland
Position: Licensed Priest, non-remunerated but with expenses of office paid.
The Neuchâtel English Church (NEC) is seeking a licensed priest to lead, support, and help grow our English-speaking congregation in Neuchâtel.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging minister who is passionate about Christ and committed to helping people deepen and broaden their Christian faith. The successful candidate will provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and support for the continued development of our church community.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised theological qualification and solid theological background
- A strong personal faith and passion for Christian ministry
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- An engaging, practical, and enthusiastic approach to ministry
- A heart for pastoral care, discipleship, and congregational growth
Key Responsibilities
Congregational Ministry
- Lead and celebrate Holy Communion services, initially once per month, with the possibility of increasing frequency as the congregation grows
- Support and engage with youth and children’s ministry, including Sunday School activities as appropriate
- Provide pastoral visits, initially one half-day per month, with flexibility based on congregational needs
- Facilitate monthly Bible study sessions online
- Lead or support online Morning Prayer and the celebration of feast days as agreed with the congregation
- Organise and lead an annual church retreat or excursion
- Represent NEC and engage with the wider ecumenical community in Neuchâtel
Archdeaconry Involvement
- Participate in Archdeaconry events where appropriate and mutually agreed
- Support additional ministry initiatives that contribute to the growth and mission of NEC, with responsibilities agreed in consultation with the successful candidate

The scope and development of the role will be reviewed in line with the needs of the congregation. All responsibilities will be undertaken with due consideration for the physical, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing of the appointed minister.
