The Archbishop of Canterbury’s Apocrisiarioi and other Representatives
in the Diocese in Europe
Since the 16th century the Archbishop of Canterbury has been
personally represented in the mother sees of many of the
Orthodox Churches. This arrangement has continued for some time in conjunction
with certain appointments in the Diocese in Europe. The appointments
enable the archbishop to have a direct and personal contact
for with Churches of the East, and their current concerns.
Liaison with Lambeth Palace on behalf of the archbishop is coordinated
by his Chaplain and Ecumenical Officer, The Reverend Canon Jonathan Goodall.
