In this directory telephone numbers which begin with a + are national numbers; when dialled from another country they need, in place of the +, the local code for dialling abroad (increasingly, as from the UK, the code is 00).

More usually numbers are given the normal way for the country concerned. Under the name of the country itself are given instructions for dialling from abroad. (To telephone the United Kingdom from abroad: dial +44 and omit the initial 0). For more information consult your local telephone directory.
